This year spearheaded by Hard Rock legends BB STEAL and U.S. Trad Metal lads WIDOW saw Steel Assassins continue to do what it does best. Delivering two days of high quality Heavy Metal with an old school mentality. Delivering an 18 band menu consisting of mostly Trad/Power/speed/Thrash and Melodic Metal it has become one of the most anticipated events on the national Metal calendar. Sydney finally has a regular festival that is strongly supported by it's locals and also brings in Maniacs from all over the country and this year we also had visitors from Europe, Japan and New Zealand as well!! We have started taking in submissions for 2018 now. If your band produces high quality Heavy Metal we want to hear from you no matter how near or far you are located. No matter if you are a veteran act of 30 years or a new band finding your feet, if you think you can make an impact then get yourself involved and get in contact. About: At the beginning of 2012 the longstanding idea of creating a weekend in Australia that dedicated an event to the Truest forms of Heavy Metal was put into motion. Inspired by the great European fests such as Keep It True and Headbangers Open Air it was time for Metal Evilution to really wield the steel downunder and start an annual event to support Trad/Speed/Power/Thrash and the Melodic sides of Metal so Steel Assassins was born. Sanctuary were scheduled to go on tour with Iced Earth and Kill Ritual in February and March. At the moment, it is unknown whether the band will just drop off the tour or search for a new singer, which will be kind of tough because Warrel had such a cool and unique voice. Keep checking back for more updates regarding the future of the band. R.I.P. Warrel and thank you for all the great music. Our condolences to his family, friends and fans.
