By now I'm sure you've heard the news that former Trivium drummer Travis Smith and his fellow former Trivium bandmate Brent Young, along with Rob Adams have a new band called BlackNova.  The band are currently working on an EP scheduled for release in the spring of 2018, but today, the band have released the music video for their first single titled "Eclipse From Within".  The video is available for streaming down below.  It's a pretty raw-sounding recording, and if you're expecting a full-on, raging metal song, prepare to be bummed, and that's all I'm going to say right now.  Give it a listen and see for yourself what you think.  Keep checking back for more updates regarding the band's EP.

We've already heard about the direction of the new Machine Head record Catharsis, which comes out on January 26th on Nuclear Blast Records, with the band stating that it's going to be more melodic than their previous efforts.  "Beyond The Pale" was the first taste of the record, but now the band have premiered the music video for the title track, and it's another melodic one.  I have to say though, that chorus is HUGE, and I love it.  There's definitely some heavy moments on this track, but I can see this song becoming a big moment in the live set.  Watch the video down below.

​As 2017 comes to an end and 2018 just around the corner, dungeon and dragons enthusiasts NORDHEIM announce "The New Year of Warriors" New Year's Day show with Trollwar in Quebec City at L'Anti Bar. The January 1st concert will see the band perform their new album "RapThor" live for the first time. With a simple philosophy of making fun folk metal and good times, the band comments on the upcoming event.

“When we play live it’s a frickin’ party! We move a lot, scream, hump the air, we drink from the fans’ beer bottles and in turn, we feed them beer, with the help of our friends and roadies coming up on stage and pouring beer in their faces. Usually between songs we’ll be making jokes about anything we can think of, as long as it’s dumb and incoherent! We have a strong sense of ‘bro-ness’ with our fans!”

Good morning me metal hearties!  You're probably why I'm using pirate talk.  Well, Iced Earth have premiered the music video for their song "Black Flag", which is about pirates, so it is only fitting that the music video is pirate-themed.  The song comes from their new album Incorruptible, which was released earlier this summer.

The video sees the band both performing on a pirate ship and in the narrative, they're all playing pirates on board the ship when the empire arrives to kill them, but the band emerge victorious in the end.  I gotta say, Jon Schaffer and Stu Block both make good pirates.

The tours for 2018 just keep coming.  The west coast of North America will be getting a real heavy treat at the end of January.  Meshuggah has announced a handful of headline dates that will take place across the west coast before boarding the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise, which will sail from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to Grand Turks, Turks & Caicos Islands and back from February 1st to the 5th.

The dates will begin on January 23rd in Vancouver and wrap up on the 29th in Los Angeles, then they board the ship.  Special guests on the dates will be Code Orange and Toothgrinder.  You can see the full list of dates down below.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 8th.

After much speculation regarding the drummer situation in Bullet For My Valentine, an official answer has been announced.  In a new update on their Facebook page, the band have announced that Jason Bowld, who has filled in for original drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas ever since early 2016, is now the band's official drummer.  I think it's safe to say that we all saw this coming.

In the same update, the band stated about the recording process for their sixth studio album, which will be released sometime in early 2018.  Read the statement down below.
