The band is currently recording it's debut album in Connecticut with world-renowned producer Chris "Zeuss" Harris, with a summer release scheduled.

Chris comments:  "I am so excited to finally be able to announced Act Of Defiance to the world.  Shawn just finished tracking drums the first week of February and his performance and tones are simply incredible.  I have started tracking rhythms and leads, as well as working with Henry to get final vocal takes while Matt will record bass at his studio.  The final mix and mastering will be handled by Zeuss.  I'm also very honoured to announce that we have signed with Metal Blade Records.  There is not a better label to beon than one where the employees (and owner) still understand and listen to METAL!  They have shown a loyalty, backing and drive for their artists that few other labels have.

As for our music, I am really enjoying the ability to create what is a killer mix of thrash and modern metal.  It has a unique combination ranging from thrash to classical influences.  I am very proud of what we have written and hope that you all dig it."

Here's the moment we've all been waiting for.  The new band featuring Chris Broderick, Shawn Drover, Matt Bachand and Henry Derek Bonner has announced the name of their band, who they have signed with and posted a teaser of one of the ass-kicking tunes on their upcoming debut album.  The name of the band is Act Of Defiance, and they have signed with Metal Blade Records

2015 is a pretty big year for the Scorpions.  The band are celebrating their 50th anniversary with the release of their new album Return To Forever, and of course, a tour.  With a bunch of European dates already announced for the summer, the band have now announced a North American tour which will take place in September and early October.  Queensryche will serve as direct support on the tour.  We couldn't be more excited about the Scorpions coming to our area on this tour, so we look forward to checking out this show.

Last week, we heard the exciting news that Testament would be doing a North American headline tour dubbed the "Dark Roots Of Thrash II" tour, where they will be performing The Legacy (1987) and The New Order (1988) in their entirety, as well as select cuts from Practice What You Preach (1989). Even better is that direct support for the tour will be Exodus.  

Now, a bunch of dates have already been announced, and now there's a few more to add to the list. The tour will also include a few festival stops in the U.S.  Opening all the shows will be Texas melodic metal titans Shattered Sun.  What's even cooler is that Shattered Sun, along with Exodus are managed by Chuck Billy and his management company Breaking Bands.

A combined VIP meet & greet experience will be available for this tour where you will get to meet select members of both Testament and Exodus at the same time.  VIP packages and tickets for the newly announced dates will be on sale this Friday, February 27th, 2015.

Testament are currently hard at work on the follow-up to Dark Roots Of Earth, with a tentative release for late 2015/early 2016 planned.  Exodus are currently on tour promoting their latest monster of an album Blood In, Blood Out, and Shattered Sun will be releasing their debut album entitled Hope Within Hatred on April 21st on Victory Records.  There's no reason why you shouldn't go out to see this tour.

Swedish death metal titans Tribulation have posted the artwork and the first taste of their new album The Children Of The Night.  The track available for streaming is entitled "In The Dreams Of The Dead".  The album is scheduled for release on April 20th in Europe and April 21st in North America on Century Media Records. The Children Of The Night is the follow-up to 2013's The Formulas Of Death, and according to the band, it picks up where The Formulas Of Death left off.  The album will be available in the following formats:
