Kirk on the experience of recording with Exodus: “It felt really casual, really cool, just like it did back in 1980 when we were all just hanging out back in the day," Kirk said. "Me, recording a solo on their album was a huge thing for me. Other than the Exodus demo that's been heard by a lot of people, it's the only time I ever recorded with Exodus. It was a huge thing for me."

He added: “I play a pretty cool solo, and then Gary comes in and plays another solo, and you know what? I listened to that and thought, 'Wow, it's 1982 all over again and here we are, Gary and I are trying to cut each other's heads off with our guitar solos. Nothing has changed much in the last 30 years. I love it. I love those guys. I've only known them for most of my life, so I'm really happy that I finally got to record with them."

I as a fan am really excited to know that Kirk is making an appearance on the new Exodus album.  I think it’s been something that’s been talked about for years, and now it’s good to see it come to fruition.  You hear about all these bands that have tensions with former bandmates, and the fans don’t want to hear about that, but it’s great to see that Kirk has always been on good terms with Exodus ever since he left the band and joined Metallica in 1983.

Blood In, Blood Out is due for release this October on Nuclear Blast Records, and is also the first Exodus album to feature Steve “Zetro” Souza on lead vocals since 2004’s Tempo Of The Damned.  Stay tuned for more details to be released regarding the album including album art, track listing and release date.

"The Last Act Of Defiance" was produced by long time friend and producer Tue Madsen who recorded the album at Nova Studio in Staten Island, NY while mixing it in his own Antfarm Studio in Denmark.

Armand Majidi about why Tue Madsen is the perfect match for SICK OF IT ALL: "Not only do we get along famously, but he has always understood how to capture the band's intensity in the quietly controlled, less-than-intense studio setting.  It was always difficult for us to find an engineer who could capture our live sound before meeting Tue, so now that we've found him, he's our guy."

"I think everybody's matured quite some bit, and I think, as we all get older, we all realize things that we do wrong, especially myself, we realize our faults and our mistakes. And it's great that everybody can come to a meeting of the minds and be able to work forward and be mature enough to work forward."

Look for Exodus to hit the road hard in support of Blood In, Blood Out, with the first tour dates for the cycle being in the U.S this fall supporting Slayer and Suicidal Tendencies. This will also be the band’s first major tour with Souza after playing a few select festivals in Europe and the Heavy Montreal festival in August.
