First off, we heard that Judas Priest didn't make the cut for the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame, but now the sad news has just come out that Sanctuary and ex-Nevermore frontman Warrel Dane has passed away just this morning from a heart attack at the age of only 56 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was in the process of working on his second solo album in Brazil. The guitarist in his solo band Johnny Moraes said that he died in the night in the apartment he was staying in and he couldn't be revived. Warrel also had a history of health and addiction issues with diabetes and alcoholism. |
Sanctuary were scheduled to go on tour with Iced Earth and Kill Ritual in February and March. At the moment, it is unknown whether the band will just drop off the tour or search for a new singer, which will be kind of tough because Warrel had such a cool and unique voice.
