Blog author: Alex Stojanovic Another detail about Slayer's much anticipated new studio album Repentless has been released: the cover artwork. It's exactly what we can expect from a Slayer album cover, but I think it looks pretty awesome. What do you think? The cover was designed by Brazilian artist Marcelo Vasco, in collaboration with Tom Araya and Kerry King. Tom spoke about the collaboration: "We had a number of submitted ideas for the cover artwork, and we felt that Marcelo's was the best. We made some suggestions and the result is an awesome album cover." In addition to the revelation of the album artwork, the band have also revealed that the title track of the album will be available this Friday. Kerry says about the title track: "'Repentless' is my Jeff tribute. I call it the 'HannemAnthem'. It's my perspective of Jeff's perspective, it's what I think...If Jeff wrote a song for himself, 'Repentless' would be it". Slayer kicks off the Mayhem Festival on June 26th in San Diego and runs through August 2nd in Dallas. The other bands appearing on the bill include King Diamond, Hellyeah, The Devil Wears Prada, Whitechapel, Thy Art Is Murder, Jungle Rot, Sister Sin, Sworn In, Shattered Sun, Feed Her To The Sharks, Code Orange and Kissing Candice. The band will then head to Japan in October to headline the Loud Park festival, followed by a European tour with special guests: Anthrax and Kvelertak. Repentless will be released worldwide on September 11th on Nuclear Blast Records. Who's excited? |
