Scorpions Announce Mikkey Dee as New Drummer

Back at the end of last December, the plug was pulled on Motorhead with the passing of Lemmy, and people were wondering what were Phil Campbell and Mikkey Dee going to do.  Well, Phil is currently working on his solo album with Slipknot percussionist Chris Fehn, and now Mikkey has a new full-time gig, and it's a big one.

After filling in for James Kottak in the Scorpions for the last few months, while Kottak has been receiving treatment for alcohol abuse, it has been confirmed that Mikkey has officially taken Kottak's place in the band.

The band released the following statement regarding the situation:  "We would like to thank James for so many years of lasting participation in the band and personal friendship. We understand and respect his need for time as he makes his way through the final stages of his healing process.  After our incredibly successful shows in the U.S, Europe and Asia, we are sure to have found a fantastic drummer with Mikkey Dee. He brings a fresh energy to the band and we look forward to the exciting time together that lies ahead."

​From all the footage I've seen on YouTube with Mikkey playing with the Scorpions, it sounds great.  Really looking forward to hearing what Mikkey will bring to Scorpions as far as maybe new music in the future.
