Blog author: Alex Stojanovic There are simply no words to describe how I'm feeling right now. I am just speechless. The unthinkable has happened. It has been confirmed that Motorhead's Lemmy has passed away today. The man just turned 70 four days ago on Christmas Eve. According to a post on the Motorhead Facebook page, the cause of death was a really aggressive cancer and he only learned of the disease two days ago on December 26th. It was also last month that former Motorhead drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor passed away. |
I feel very fortunate that I had the opportunity to see Motorhead once back in 2011 at the first Heavy T.O festival on the World Is Yours tour, and they slayed as you would expect.
Lemmy, thank you so much for all that you've done for rock and metal. Your music and legend will live on forever.
Everyone put your horns up, heads down and blast Motorhead LOUD! Our thoughts are with Lemmy's family, friends and Motorhead fans across the globe.
R.I.P Lemmy (1945 - 2015). Born to lose, live to win!
