 | Blog author: Alex Stojanovic Last year, Metallica's North American leg of the Worldwired tour was one of the biggest tours of both the summer and the year as a whole. It saw the band taking a massive stage show to stadiums all across the U.S and Canada. That leg only lasted for 27 shows though. After that leg, people were thinking "This can't be it. There's gotta be another North American leg in 2018." Well, here's the good news, folks! Metallica have just announced the second leg of North American dates for the tour. As opposed to taking over stadiums again, the band is headed indoors back into the arenas this time around. That means fans in North America will get to hear the band play "Spit Out The Bone" live, as they have said that they held back on playing it live in the stadiums, saving it for the arenas as it would go down better in that setting. |
The tour will last for 34 shows, beginning on September 2nd in Madison, Wisconsin and running all the way into 2019, wrapping up on March 13th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The tour will be hitting many major and secondary markets across the U.S. and Canada. On this tour, instead of a band being the opening act, the shows will be starting off with a pre-show party dubbed Light It Up, hosted by Jim Breuer, plus there will be a DJ. Okay, Breuer's cool and Metallica have every right to do whatever they'd like, but a DJ is completely unnecessary. My two cents.
Tickets go on sale March 2nd at 10 AM local time, with the Legacy Member pre-sale starting at 9 AM local time tomorrow, February 27th and the Fifth Member pre-sale also starting tomorrow, February 27th at 11 AM local time. One other cool thing the band will be offering for this tour is the Wherever I May Roam Black Ticket, which will give fans the opportunity to travel to see the show(s) of their choice. If you contact the band no less than 48 hours before the show of your choice, you are in automatically. However, there is only a limited amount of 250 tickets, so act fast if you want that ticket.
