Blog author: Alex Stojanovic We were really excited when Metal Allegiance announced that the release of their sophomore album Volume II: Power Drunk Majesty, coming out on September 7th via Nuclear Blast Records. The first single "Mother Of Sin" with Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth of Overkill on vocals was a killer thrash track, but today, the band have premiered the lyric video for the second single "Voodoo Of The Godsend", featuring Max Cavalera on vocals, along with Alex Skolnick on guitars, Mike Portnoy on drums and David Ellefson on bass. The track begins with a very African, jungle-type drum intro and some eerie spoken-word vocals, before heading into some melodic riffing. Now I'm not just saying this just because Max is on here, but it does sort of remind me of Sepultura a little bit. Speaking of which, this is the first time in a long time that Max and Andreas Kisser are on the same record (Andreas isn't on this song). Check out the new track down below. |
