tracks, as well as a number of special guest singers and lead guitarists, which will all be revealed soon. Nuclear Blast president Monte Conner comments on the signing: "I am incredibly fortunate to be able to work with legendary musicians and personal heroes like David Ellefson, Alex Skolnick and Mike Portnoy, as well as Metal Allegiance founder Mark Menghi. These gus wrote an amazing and diverse record that is 100% pure metal, and lined up with some killer guest vocalists and lead guitarists to bring it home in an epic, shredding fashion - just the leads on this record alone will blow people away. Perhaps the collest part of all is that unlike similar projects in the past that existed as studio-only creations, Metal Allegiance were a touring entity first and have now organically evolved into a studio band that makes albums. I am very grateful to these guys for choosing me and the Nuclear Blast team as the vehicle to bring their music to the metal masses. | Blog author: Alex Stojanovic Since the beginning of the year, Mike Portnoy has been teasing about a secret metal project that he is a part of, and it was rumoured that he was to be joined by Megadeth's David Ellefson and Testament's Alex Skolnick, but that has been officially confirmed now. Portnoy, Ellefson and Skolnick performed together last year along with a slew of other metal titans as part of the Metal Allegiance on Motorhead's Motorboat Cruise and also the ShipRocked Cruise. The project has signed a worldwide deal with Nuclear Blast Records and the debut album is expected this fall and will feature nine original This definitely sounds exciting, and we look forward to hearing the music they have created. The three members also have a lot going in their own worlds as well. Megadeth is currently in the studio tracking the follow-up to Super Collider (2013), and is expected later this year. Testament is currently working on the follow-up to Dark Roots Of Earth (2012), and are aiming to hit the studio later in the year for an early 2016 release. Mike Portnoy of course has a LOT going on in his world. The Winery Dogs are currently in the writing process for their sophomore album, which is expected in late 2015/early 2016. This year, Mike has also been touring with Flying Colors and the Neal Morse band. Mike will also be joining Twisted Sister on their summer dates, which will be their last shows before they call it quits due to the recent passing of original drummer AJ Pero.
