 | Blog author: Alex Stojanovic Sadly, another legend has left the building. Legendary producer Martin Birch, one of the greatest producers ever who produced some of the biggest records by many of the British hard rock and metal bands, has died at the age of 71. The news was confirmed by David Coverdale in a post on his social media. No cause of death has been confirmed. In addition to producing, Birch worked as an engineer on many records as well. Many of the classic records we love wouldn't sound the way they do without him. He started his production career in 1968, and retired from production in 1992. |
He has produced and engineered for many bands such as Fleetwood Mac, Deep Purple, Wishbone Ash, Rainbow, Whitesnake, Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult and Iron Maiden. The last album he produced before he retired was Iron Maiden's Fear Of The Dark.
