Blog author: Alex Stojanovic Well, it's official. After a year of uncertainty, Lamb Of God has parted ways with Chris Adler. It definitely is surprising news, but in a way, I can't say I'm all that surprised because I'm pretty sure we all saw it coming. It was last July when the band was about to head out on the second North American leg of Slayer's farewell tour that they announced that Chris would be sitting out the tour dates, and they expected him to return soon. However, it wasn't sure why Chris was sitting out, until he shared the news that he was recovering from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash in late 2017. It took him some time to get completely healed up, but he has been busy doing some other side projects, like his art exhibit. |
"Dear Lamb Of God fans:
We returned last week from a great European festival run and our final tour with Slayer in North America. We are excited to keep the momentum going and dive into the next record.
We'd like to officially welcome Art Cruz, who has been playing drums with us on tour for the last year, as the new drummer of Lamb Of God. Art will be joining us in the studio as we begin pre-production and recording of a new album.
We're very proud of everything this band has accomplished over the last two decades. We would like to thank Chris Adler for his contributions over the years and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
Thank you,
John, Mark, Randy & Willie"
We also wish Chris the best in his future endeavours. He will be playing with the cover band Hail this fall in Russia, but we hope that he finds a new band soon that writes and composes original music. We are curious, but excited to hear what Art will bring to Lamb Of God on their next album. Fear not, because Art is no slouch on the kit. He's a beast.
