Blog author: Alex Stojanovic Well here's something nobody saw coming. After 19 years, it has been announced that longtime In Flames bassist Peter Iwers has announced his departure from the band due to a desire to pursue other endeavours. The band's current Forged In Fire co-headline tour with Hellyeah trekking across North America will be Iwers' last tour with the band, so the last gig of the tour, which is on December 19th in Portland, Oregon will be Peter's last gig with In Flames. The band are currently touring in support of their brand new album Battles, which came out November 11th. |
"Friends, I have decided to leave In Flames to pursue other endeavours. As a result, this current US tour will be my last one with In Flames so if you are around, come and say hi. It has been almost 20 years of fun and I am eternally grateful to you all for all the support you have given me and the rest of the guys throughout all these years. You made it all possible. Now is the time for me to move on with other musical and non musical adventures. I wish the very best to Niclas, Anders, Björn & Joe. Hope to see all you Jesterheads down the road in my future endeavors. Follow my Instagram @peteriwers for updates. May the force be with you.
Sincerely, Peter"
We wish Peter the best in his future endeavours. In the meantime, if the band's current tour is hitting your city, be sure to go out and see it. It will be your last chance to see Peter with the band. We'll update you when a replacement is announced.
