It's been reported that Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, who we all know from his time in Motorhead, has passed away yesterday at the age of just 61 from an undisclosed illness. The death was confirmed by his fellow former Motorhead bandmate "Fast" Eddie Clarke, who posted the following tribute to Phil: "My dear friend and brother passed away last night. He had been ill for sometime, but that does not make it any easier when the time finally comes. I have known Phil since he was 21 and he was one hell of a character. Fortunately, we made some fantastic music together and I have many many fond memories of our time together. Rest in peace Phil!" |
Such a terrible loss. An tremendous and powerful drummer that influenced so many drummers around today, and one of my favourites. We send our condolences to Phil's family and friends. R.I.P Philthy Animal (1954-2015).
