Blog author: Alex Stojanovic After several years of silence, Demons & Wizards, the supergroup featuring Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth and Hansi Kursch of Blind Guardian, announced their return to activity last year. In addition to the festivals and headline shows in Europe the band will be playing, they have just announced what is their first-ever, and what might be their only, North American tour. There's a first time for everything. Both Jon and Hansi are ecstatic about finally being able to bring Demons & Wizards to North America. Hansi comments: "Demons & Wizards touring North America? That is going to be pure magic, guaranteed. You better not miss it, cause you never know when the Demon and the Wizard will join forces again. I am really thrilled about these first shows for Demons & Wizards in North America and we are going to make every single night a legendary night to remember. Join us on this path of glory." Jon comments: "I am very happy that we've announced the first ever Demons & Wizards tour in North America. We’ve been getting fan requests for many years to bring this show to all points around the world. To be able to do it in the USA is an exciting development. Stay heavy and see you on the road soon!" Demons & Wizards recently announced their signing to Century Media Records for their highly-anticipated third studio album, which is aimed to be released in early 2020. In addition, the label will release the band's first two albums: Demons & Wizards (1999) and Touched By The Crimson King (2005) as re-worked special editions. Both albums will be remastered by Chris "Zeuss" Harris, and will be released on June 7th as limited edition digi-packs, and limited deluxe two LP releases with bonus material and liner notes by Jon and Hansi. The remastered digital standard versions of the two albums recently became available to promote the band's upcoming festival tour of Europe. Back to the North American tour, the run will begin on August 17th in Los Angeles, and run for only 13 shows, before wrapping up in Atlanta with an appearance at the sold out ProgPower festival. Special guests on the tour will be Lizzy Borden and Tyr. Down below, you can see the full list of the band's upcoming dates in both North America and Europe. |
