 Judging from all the collaborations the album will feature, I can tell that this will probably be Blind Guardian's most epic album to date. The album will also feature the band's long-awaited collaborative work with three different classical choirs from three different countries: one from Prague, Czech Republic, one from Budapest, Hungary and one from Boston, Massachusetts. If that's not enough, there will also be two grand orchestras, each consisting of 90 musicians, laying down their talents to the album. 90 musicians each? HOLY COW! Frontman Hansi Kursch talks about the concept of the album: "A story between science fiction and fantasy. The story begins with our 1995 album "Imaginations From The Other Side". The two worlds described therein have changed dramatically for the worse since then. While there used to be several passages between the worlds, there is only one gate left now: The Red Mirror. One of those new releases will be the long awaited new studio album from Blind Guardian, which the band have revealed the details of, including the title, TWO cover artworks, release date and track listing. The album's title will be Beyond The Red Mirror, and is the follow-up to 2010's At The Edge Of Time. It will be released on January 30, 2015 in Europe and February 3, 2015 in North America on Nuclear Blast Records. The album's first single "Twilight Of The Gods" will be released on December 5, 2014. Hansi Kursch describes the songs as "a neck breaker...the pure definition of all that the band stands for: it is innovative, melodic and brutal". I'm excited for the new Blind Guardian record. As I said above, it sounds like it's going to be their most epic to date, and the band will be hitting the road hard in 2015 in support of the new album. The band already have a slew of shows lined up for the new year, with the 70000 Tons Of Metal cruise being the kickoff show, then followed by a massive headline trek across Europe running from April to June, with Israel's Orphaned Land serving as special guests on select dates.
