The first act of the night, Uncured, reined over the Phoenix with astounding energy. The young, New York originated band seeped their unique death-metal style into our veins as we relished in our first few beers of the night. Founded by two brothers, Rex Cox and Zak Cox in 2014, the band grew at an impeccable race, gathering fans worldwide – and with good reason. Bringing aspects of progressive, melodic and technical metal and sprinkling it with a dash of groove, they proved themselves undefinable by comparison to any time-tested metal band – ensuring they set themselves apart from others. It is, then, not surprising that their first (and only) album, Medusa, landed them fame, respect, and a spot on Bodom’s latest tour.
