Marianas Trench, Matthew Good, The Sheepdogs, Monster Truck, Arkells, and Lightsannounced as headliners for SCENE Music Festival taking place in St. Catharines, Ontario on June 28th and 29th, 2014. Celebrating 19 years as one of Southern Ontario’s most renowned independent music events, SCENE returns to St. Catharines this summer. This year, for the first time, the festival will be held over a two-day period, with the main stage relocating to Montebello Park in St. Catharines. The annual festival has evolved into one of the largest and most anticipated, all-ages, independent music festivals in the region. 2014 also marks the first year of a newly forged Union Events (Riot Fest, Sonic Boom Festival) – SCENE alliance. Having struck a strategic partnership with local SCENEproducers Steve Stumble and Jennifer Anderson, longtime talent booker for SCENE and now Lead Talent buyer for the Toronto office of Union Events, Pat Murphy is excited about this new chapter for the festival, “Growing up in St. Catharines, SCENE has always been a community staple and getting to work alongside Steve and Jennifer over the years has always been a highlight of my year. Bringing SCENE under the Union Events umbrella opens many doors for the local community in terms of the size of talent we’re able to attract to St. Kitts and the amount of people we can accommodate. We look forward to giving local acts a chance to shine alongside big name headliners and make this the biggest SCENEFest yet!” | With an incredible team by their side, Jennifer and Steve are thrilled by what will beSCENE’s biggest year yet. Jennifer has added, “SCENE's success has always been tied to a team committed to our vision. Pat has been part of the SCENE team for many years and has always worked to elevate the event. We are excited about our partnership and growing the festival this year. 2014 is going to be amazing. Get ready.” Interested in performing at this year’s SCENE Music Festival? While maintaining the original festival's focus on Niagara-based independent acts, SCENEhas become a more diverse event over the years showcasing a number of international artists and talent from across Canada. Last year's SCENE Music Festival drew over 5,000 attendees and attracted industry and media interest throughout North America. The festival has provided a vital springboard for such local artists as Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Silverstein, City & Colour, Shad, USS, Cancer Bats, Monster Truck, Bedouin Soundclash & more. |
