Gary Holt has confirmed that "Zetro" will be singing on the new Exodus album, and vocal tracking will begin this week. The title and the release date of the album is still to be determined as well, but look for Exodus to hit the road hard in support of the album. It was also announced that in addition to Exodus, "Zetro" will still be continuing with his current band Hatriot, who just released their sophomore album Dawn Of The New Centurion earlier this year on Massacre Records, and is already working on their third album tentatively due out early next year, so "Zetro" will be pulling double duty, just like Gary Holt is with Slayer. Rob Dukes also has his project Generation Kill, who released two great studio albums so far: their debut Red, White & Blood (2011), and their sophomore We’re All Gonna Die (2013). | Blog Author: Alex Stojanovic Bay Area thrash kings Exodus have made the news announcing that they have parted ways with their singer of 9 years Rob Dukes, and have welcomed back Steve “Zetro” Souza to the fold. I am really excited, but at the same time feeling a little down because I’m a big fan of Rob Dukes. His work on the last three Exodus albums (Shovel Headed Kill Machine, The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A, and Exhibit B: The Human Condition) was absolutely amazing, and it’s what made me an Exodus fan in the first place, then I went back and listened to all the classic stuff with Paul Baloff and "Zetro". A statement from Gary Holt reads as follows: “As a band, we all had to make a very difficult choice to part ways with Rob Dukes. We have nothing but love and admiration for him and the deepest gratitude for the hard work he has put in and the great work on some killer records. But at this time, Tom, Lee, Jack and myself thought a change was necessary and the unanimous choice going forward was to welcome back Steve Souza to the fold!” Souza added “I spent a great part of my life with Exodus, that blood flows through me, even not being in the band for the past 10 years, you can’t erase that chemistry. I’m very excited!” |
