The venue posted the following statement on social media regarding the closure:
"Dear Customers. We regret to inform you that The Mod Club will be closing its doors and operations at 722 College Street, Toronto ON effective immediately.
Serving you for the last two decades has been full of great memories and good times! We hope we have been successful in adding to the community since we first opened our doors in 2002. Our goal was always striving to bring big smiles, positive vibrations, and memories that will last a lifetime.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the years of love, we appreciate every single one of you! Let the good times keep rollin'...."
We at Metal Master Kingdom had the great fortune of seeing and covering many great shows at the Mod Club over the years, and we will carry those great memories with us forever. This pandemic has killed off so many great local venues and businesses. We wish Bruno and all the rest of the Mod crew all the best for the future, and we hope that they will be able to resurrect the Mod in a new location and maybe under a different name at some point in the future.
Let's take some time to reflect on all the good times we had at the Mod Club. Check out all the shows we've covered at the venue over the years.
