One of Canada's fastest growing indie metal labels, Halifax based Spread The Metal Records is proud to announce the signing of Hamilton, ON's melodic groove metal band Deathpoint for the release of their new album 'Sinister' set to be unleashed later this year. The band recently added vocalist Tom Emmans (Odium) to their line up.
Matt Day of STM Records comments:
"It seems like anyone can get a Nobel Peace Prize nowadays, but getting signed to STM is a different story. You have to earn it. Deathpoint is the proud new addition to STM's roster and I'm grateful to be given the chance to stand behind their upcoming full length, Sinister."
Deathpoint have previously released their 2010 debut album "Fixation" and their 2011 follow up EP "Suffer". The band has been steadily establishing itself in the Ontario metal scene performing alongside bands such as Divine Heresy, Moonspell, Blackguard, Threat Signal, The Agonist, and The Catalyst.
Deathpoint drummer Mike Labate comments on the signing.
"We are very excited to sign with Spread The Metal records. We've put in a lot of hard work into making this record and building our name in and around the greater Hamilton area. Also, it is very exciting to work with a label whose key objective is the advance of the band with only success as the objective. Our plan is to make the label proud, and work together to take Deathpoint to the next level."
Spread the Metal Records is an artist-oriented label that recognizes the commitment of all those who have signed with them and those who continue to support the label in other ways. A label is only as strong as its artists, and indeed the job of the record label is to create an environment where they can pursue their artistic vision. That means giving straight answers, holding the label accountable, taking responsibility for their mistakes, and recognizing their own limitations. STM believes in every release that they put out and they have more respect for the fans than to expose them to a sub-par album. STM demands the best from themselves, and so they can't accept any less from the bands that they represent.
