"The origins of Mangled Music Radio, in a sense, can be traced back to 2006 when a radio station was created by Rages Goddess called West Florida Metal Radio (WFLM Radio). Through out the history of WFLM, the station gained a worldwide fan base, as well as support from bands and record labels, which in turn drove the station to be a favorite among many and their dedication and support continued through the years. WFLM continued to thrive when Rages Goddess sold the station in 2010 to staff member and DJ Jewel Throne to help the station continue on for many years to come.
Continue on it did as many bands and record labels continued to show their support by continuing to send in music and do interviews. The station continued to gain new fans and many more supporters under the new ownership.
In the summer of 2014, Jewel Throne, after much thinking, decided it was time to start fresh. A decision that was difficult to pull the trigger on, but in September, he announced that the station will soldier on under a new name. He made the announcement on the air during the month of September. On Thursday, September 18, 2014, Jewel said that it was the final show under the WFLM banner. The announcement of the new name occured on Sunday, September 21, 2014 on his Facebook page.
While the station has a new name, it will still be business as usual. Acknowledgement of the old name will still be around with the old shows that still will reair, as well as on the website itself.
Thanks to everyone who showed their support over the last eight years under the WFLM banner and we all at the station know you will still show your support under the name Mangled Music Radio."
