We all have them. Those favourite albums from certain bands that we would love to hear played live in full. Whether it's Aerosmith doing Toys In The Attic, Judas Priest doing British Steel, Anthrax doing Among The Living or Rush doing Moving Pictures, every band, old and new gets to the point where they end up performing one or more of their classic albums in their entireties. I haven't seen too many shows like that, but whenever one of my favourite bands plays one of their albums in its entirety, it's always awesome because as a fan, I don't want to just hear all the hits all the time.
The shows I've seen where albums were played in full were Megadeth playing Rust In Peace, Slayer playing Seasons In The Abyss in 2010 (both in the same show) and Testament doing The Legacy and The New Order (also in one show) last year, but down below are some examples of some other albums that I, and I'm sure many other fans of the bands listed down below, would love to hear live in full.

5. IRON MAIDEN - NUMBER OF THE BEAST
I know that hearing Number Of The Beast live in its entirety won't happen, but hey a guy can dream can't he? Iron Maiden isn't one of those bands that plays entire albums live, except for the year they played A Matter Of Life & Death in full. With Number Of The Beast being the ultimate Maiden album, it would be awesome to hear this whole album live on one of their history tours.
They play the title track, "Run To The Hills" and "Hallowed Be Thy Name" a lot and I love the songs, but I get the chills just thinking about hearing songs like "Invaders", "22 Acacia Avenue" and "Gangland" live. It's absolutely insane that the band has never played "Invaders" and "Gangland" because those are incredible songs. Imagine them opening their set with "Invaders". Holy shit, now that would be killer!

4. TESTAMENT - PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH
As I mentioned above, I was lucky enough to hear Testament's first two records: The Legacy and The New Order played in their entireties last year and it was awesome because I love those records to death, but if I had to pick another one of the first five records to hear all of live, I would have to pick Practice What You Preach because that's the most diverse of the first five records and I love diversity. Souls Of Black would be second.
Every time I saw Testament, the only track from Practice What You Preach I heard was the title track and I absolutely love the song, but I would love to hear some more songs from this album. Imagine them bringing out "Perilous Nation", "Blessed In Contempt", "Greenhouse Effect", "Time Is Coming", "The Ballad", "Sins Of Omission" and "Envy Life". How cool would that be?

3. METALLICA - MASTER OF PUPPETS
With Metallica, I was torn between picking Ride The Lightning or Master Of Puppets because even though the latter is my favourite Metallica record, I love Ride The Lightning just as much. I've only seen Metallica once and they only played one song from those two records. "For Whom The Bell Tolls" and "Master Of Puppets". In 2006 for Master Of Puppets' 20th anniversary, the band played the whole album, but only in Europe.
Being that Metallica seems to be focused on finishing the new album for this year, I don't see 30th anniversary shows for the album taking place this year, but just thinking about hearing this entire album live gives me goosebumps.

2. RUSH - PERMANENT WAVES
By now, I've heard just about all of Permanent Waves in its entirety live, with the exception of "Different Strings". Except for "Spirit Of Radio", which I heard every time I saw Rush, I've heard the other songs at different points when I saw Rush live. I heard "Freewill", "Entre Nous" and "Natural Science" on the Snakes & Arrows tour in 2007 and more recently "Jacob's Ladder" on the R40 tour last year, but it would be awesome to hear all the tracks from the album all in the same show. There's only six songs on the album, and the band play 26-29 songs every time, so it would be a perfect set to add all the Permament Waves songs, and still put in 20-22 other songs.
However, now that Rush are no longer touring due to Neil Peart's chronic issues, that puts my dream of hearing Permanent Waves live in the bin, plus I don't think it would have ever happened, but if they end up doing one-off shows in the future, it would be awesome if they incorporate all the Permanent Waves songs into the set.

1. MEGADETH - PEACE SELLS...BUT WHO'S BUYING?
When it comes to Megadeth, I'll take any of the first five records to hear live. Two of those records have already been played live: Rust In Peace and Countdown To Extinction, and I'm glad to say that I got to hear Rust In Peace played live in 2010 for the 20th anniversary of the album. Megadeth do "Holy Wars" and "Hangar 18" all the time, but to hear other stuff from that album like "Lucretia", "Five Magics" and "Rust In Peace...Polaris" was just killer, and I would love to see that again, but I would absolutely LOVE to hear Peace Sells played in its entirety because it's my favourite album ever. Obviously "Wake Up Dead" and the title track are amazing songs, but they're in the set all the time as well, and I would love to hear stuff like "Devil's Island", "Good Mourning/Black Friday" and especially "The Conjuring".
Now for years, it's been well-documented that Mustaine refuses to play the song anymore due to obvious reasons, his religious beliefs, but given that he recently stated that he's reconsidering his decision to never play the song live again, it definitely raises hope that it will happen at some point and we will get to hear "The Conjuring" live, because that is also my #1 Megadeth song. With Chris Adler in the band currently and Peace Sells being his favourite album of all time, Mustaine may actually make Chris happy, as well as the fans and bring the song back. We'll just have to wait and see. I mean, what Megadeth fan wouldn't want to hear "The Conjuring" live, or this whole masterpiece of a record?
