Ever since I was sent Trivium's new album The Sin & The Sentence for a review, the track that has been on repeat the most was "Beyond Oblivion". The entire album is amazing, but aside from the title track, this song is a bit more memorable than the other tracks. That's not saying the other tracks aren't memorable, but the way this song is put together and what it contains is why it stand out the way it does.
"Beyond Oblivion" carries a lot of Shogun vibes, especially in the vocal department. The verses sound dark and moody, I put them on parallel with the verses in "He Who Spawned The Furies". Of course, you can't forget about the chorus. Unbelievably catchy and anthemic sounding. I find myself singing along to the chorus every single time.
The music on the other hand is equally as impressive. The structure is pretty simple, but the riffs are real heavy and pretty technical, especially the intro riff and I love how it's played over top of three different riffs separately. I really hope that at some point, the band incorporates this song into the set on this album cycle.

New drummer Alex Bent also uploaded a drum playthrough video of this song, and I highly suggest you check it out. The man is a machine.
