Years have passed and former Biohazard front man Evan Seinfeld has embarked on quite the career since parting ways with his former band. Some though that he might not even return to the music scene at all, but as if almost out of nowhere with a force of fury, Seinfeld comes storming back with ATTIKA7. Interesting enough this was not entirely Evan’s idea. Originally “Sons of Anarchy” star Rusty Coones brainstormed ATTIKA7 while serving time in prison. Rusty being an old friend of Seinfeld brought the concept to him, and they both agreed to join forces. Amazingly enough the talent doesn't stop there. Heavy hitters such as guitarist Ira Black formerly of Lizzy Borden and Metal Church, drummer Tommy Holt (UPO) and bassist Zack Broderick of Non-Point; put all these guys together and the end result is a full length LP Blood of My Enemies. So here we are in Tampa, FL Mayhem Music Festival July 31st. Sweat pouring from every orifice, and this guy is anxiously waiting to see what these guys are going to do. I was fortunate enough to listen to their new album before the show just to get an idea of what to expect from this Supergroup of sorts. The time has come, background music up and now the roar of a motorcycle can be heard. And there it is, Seinfeld takes the stages riding on a Harley Davidson. Parks it front and center and commands the audience to “Get the FUCK up!” and so it begins. Starting off with one of my favorite songs on the album “Crackerman” the energy was definitely the power behind this band. Unfortunately, guitarist and founder Rusty Coones was unable to be at the show due to having attend a taping of “Sons of Anarchy”, but none the less this was a performance like no other. I would say the music is unique sludgy, southern metal sound with a heavy biker influence. Experience definitely shined through here, all members being veterans to the stage had no problem exciting the crowds. After catching their set, I had only one thing to say….. Bio Who? Metal what? Get me some ATTIKA7, because that’s the new SHIT!!!! On Location at: Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Music Festival |
