POWER THEORY IS:
Jeff Rose – Vocals Rob "BB" Ballinger – Guitar Carlos Alvarez – Guitar Alan D'Angelo – Bass Johnny Sasso – Drums |
The idea behind this EP largely caught my interest – for it encapsulated all the features of a budding band's demo, yet was packaged in the mannerism of an established band. This made it say less “here’s what we can do” and more “this is what we do, and will always do”. With Jeff Rose’s Bruce Dickinson reminiscent vocals lining the heavy guitar chugs with silky highs and aggressive lows, the EP stood true to the new wave of British heavy metal bands. With their newest single “Brace For Impact” involving a profoundly Iron Maiden inspired spin (similar to that of their 2015 release, Driven By Fear – the band has acquired finesse over time, striving for a more true, traditional sound with every album.
Currently in the early stages of putting together their newest album to be released on the German label Pure Steel Records, this five-track EP serves as a teaser, displaying the full spectrum of Power Theory’s talents: composing music, performing live, and recording in-studio. The EP leaves us with a semblance of gratitude towards the fan-driven band, and an anticipation for a whole new album of metal, power and passion. Staying loyal to such a conventional metal genre, Power Theory is a band to be heard anytime, anywhere and with anyone – they go with pizza and beer at home, a drive to work or a long night out with buddies.
This EP release is the perfect package for “not-yet” Power Theory fans to fall for their high-energy, true-to-the-genre tracks, so catch them live, listen to their Something Old, Something New & Something F**king LIVE!!, and keep rockin’ on with Power Theory: a metal band for then, now and forever.
