Some black metal bands tend to write long epic tracks that sometimes overstay their welcome, and they can get kind of tedious. While Northwind Wolves have kept their songs at respectable lengths of 3-4 minutes, a number of the songs mirror one another. As I was listening to the album, I sometimes found myself going: "Didn't I just hear that song?", so as a result, it got a little hard to keep track of which song I was on. If there was a bit more variety included on the album, I would've enjoyed it much more. However, the performances and the production were all solid. "Dark Skies For Black Sorcerey" and "Celestial Extinction" were the standout tracks for me, with the soaring melodies of the former and the thrashy feel of the latter. Unfortnately, all the songs in between failed to captivate me as they all sounded similar to each other. If black metal is your thing and you're interested in checking out new black metal bands, I suggest you check out Northwind Wolves and their debut album Dark... Cold... Grim...
Highs: Solid production and performances
Lows: A number of songs tend to mirror each other
