The band members themselves were pretty skeptical about the idea at first, given Tremonti's musical background, coming from hard rock and heavy metal. However, the man earned their respect for his commitment, professionalism and outstanding performance. While on the subject of performance, as Tremonti sings the first notes of "I've Got You Under My Skin", it's insane how much his voice resembles Sinatra's. I swear, if he were the singer in a pure Sinatra tribute band, he would make a killing. The bluesy tone in his baritone voice fit perfectly with the soft brush drumming approach.
My favourite cut is "Fly Me To The Moon", mainly because it's my favourite Sinatra song. However, another standout moment is "Come Fly With Me", because they sped up the tempo. Now, if you're going into this album expecting any inklings of rock/metal, or just guitar in general, you are SOL, because this is the furthest thing from a rock project, so there are absolutely no familiar elements from Mark's past to find on this album. While we're on that subject though, I will say that it would be pretty cool to hear some rock renditions of Sinatra songs as well. This is a great representation of what Sinatra songs would sound like with more modern production. Tremonti, Frank is undoubtedly looking down on you with a big smile on his face saying "That is how you do it!"
