However, as well noticed, the one element they were missing even when they put the album out, was a bass player. |  |
They had a bass player when they released their first couple of introductory singles in early 2019, but when things suddenly went quiet in the camp for them for the rest of the year, until they reemerged in early 2020, they were missing the bassist. This left fans wondering if they would ever get another bass player, and sure enough, in the last month, that void was filled, and not just by anybody. It was filled by a familiar face that nobody has heard from in quite a few years, and somebody that Michael "Moose" Thomas knows very well. That was Jason "Jay" James, Moose's ex-Bullet For My Valentine bandmate. Needless to say that the announcement of Jay's addition to the band and reuniting with Moose got fans ecstatic, especially the old-school Bullet fans. I'd be lying if I said that me and a bunch of other fans were never thinking about the slight possibility of Jay filling in that void.
To mark the occasion, the band release a new track titled "Chasing Shadows"which is a B-side from the sessions for The Sinner, and is the first to feature Jay as a member. Jay is handling a majority of the screaming vocals while James Clark handles a few screams, and the cleans in the choruses. Jay's scream is instantly recognizable, and it brought a lot of memories back for old-school fans. The track doesn't deviate at all from the musical direction taken on The Sinner. Now that the band is a complete unit once again, they had just finished doing their first-ever live shows as the opening act for Bleed From Within, and will head out to do more shows and release new music in 2022 and beyond.
