Now some of these songs, the most times that most of these songs were played live was on the tours promoting the albums that they originally appeared on. Songs like "Lord Of Hate", "Fallen", "Absence Of Light", "Don't Save Me" and "Succubus" were all played during the tours for their respective albums that they appeared on, like Killing Season, Relentless Retribution and The Dream Calls For Blood. However, as good as "Lord Of Hate" is on the original recording, it's awesome to hear how it would've sounded with more enhanced production, because Killing Season felt like it was lacking something production-wise. The same can be said about classic tracks like "Why You Do This", "The Organization", and "Guilty Of Innocence". It would've been kind of cool if we could've also gotten one or two tracks from The Ultra-Violence as well, but because the album means so much to the band and the fans as the way it is, I understand why they doesn't really want to touch those songs.
As I mentioned before, live albums aren't something I tend to review too often when compared to full-length studio albums and EPs, but something like Death Angel's Bastard Tracks is special, especially for us die-hard fans who love the deep cuts. It sure makes us all hope that when the band goes back out on tour this spring, they will pull more of these tracks out of the vaults and back into the set along with all the other fan favourites they play.
