Some songs give off strong Def Leppard vibes with the high vocal harmonies and echo effect on the guitars, while some give off a Journey vibe with the keyboards. The album's title track and "Madeleine" are very much in the vein of Def Leppard. The title track really reminds of "Hysteria". With the big hooky choruses and epic vibes, so many of these songs, like "Friends", "Madeleine", "Lift Me Up" and "Take Me To Your Heart" will work fantastic in an arena or stadium setting. While the main focus on the album seems to be on the more simplistic side, the band aren't afraid to show off a little bit and do something a little more technical, like "Breakout". I think musicians will find favour with this track.
The AOR scene might not be producing anything groundbreaking at the moment with all the new bands coming out sounding very similar to one another, but all these bands are all putting out quality melodic rock. This is only Arctic Rain's first album, but I'm excited to see what they got to coming for the future.
Highs: Big hooks, solid songwriting, great musicianship.
Lows: Nothing groundbreaking.
