Guitarist and vocalist Dave Ferland founded the heavy groove and stomp posse known as SYLO back in 2002. SYLO is a 5 piece metal monster of sound with grooves so deep that upon listening, I thought I was in the heart of Texas. The beat of the southern United States is like none other in the metal groove scene. I think it's the heat, and the tequila. I mean, how else does a band get so raunchy and dirty? Every tune drips with lone star metal beats and breakdowns which makes up the core of this band and the subgenre they represent. 

It is my belief that if this band focused more on songwriting they could evolve their sound to exemplify each band member, not overshadow or drown out. My only point of disappointment is the untidy recording of , at times, overzealous stomp beats.
