I'm not to familiar with music from this part of the world, but if Resister is a representation of what Belgrade has to offer then I must say that I am impressed. Their music is well composed, produced, and out right brutal. The Serbian five piece has put together some incredible music. Their first effort, a 3 song Demo recorded in 2007 at Paradox studio, gave us songs such as "Hunger","Fighting with fire" and "Point of view". After a short break they returned with a full album released on Nocturne Magazine Edition. “Slavery Machine” overall is a great song. From the start energy starts to build, with some good vocals, pounding drums, and great guitar work. I really like Vlado’s vocal ability. He has great clean vocals and an incredible guttural scream. They are careful not to overdue their music at any point. Guitar work is well composed, not to complex, but some great songwriting abilities are well noticed. I like the atmosphere with the keyboards, and the guitar solos fill it in nicely. I really like to the solo trade offs, they are not to flashy and a nice clean sound, pronouncing each note.
I am eager to hear what Resister has in store for us. In my opinion a great effort and can’t wait to see this young grow, they have an amazing presence. I give this song 5 out of five horns up….Keep em coming guys!!!
