44 Fires have bridged the heavy rock / metal bridge. At times I think I am hearing a band from the 1980's and then when the groove kicks in I am back in the 21st century.
This band delivers a no-nonsense approach to their songwriting; hard and heavy tunes with very current, politically charged lyrics which are delivered with conviction, and angst from Brian. The individual band members come together in 44 Fires with experience from many different musical genres. I believe this element has brought a unique flavor to the songs they write. Their days of cover bands are over, and 44 Fires are making their way in the music world with original, and sexy, savvy tunes.
Corporate Lies delivers a fast tempo, and grinding guitar work. The lyrics say it all, the injustice of the corporate world is slowly being revealed to us, and we are witnessing many white collar workers like CEO's, and their employees going to their prison cells.
Wake I really like the way this song rolls along. The guitar opens up the song, and the drums give us a killer tempo. The bass makes one's heart jump to the rhythm.
Death Trap Signing bullets? Yeah, I get it. We all have a bullet with our name on it. Trick is, keep that bullet in your possesion, so no one else can use it. Groovin' is the name of the sound in this tune.
Hate Me Why do you HATE ME? There is a lot of hate talk these days. You piss one person off, they might decide to reciprocate with the aid of a gun. Hate is a strong emotion, and can drive us all over the edge. Great stoner song.
Propaganda Fear-mongering, lies and violent persuasion are all ways that governments and organized religions keep the sheep in line. This has been going on for centuries, and now we are totally consumed by whatever “truths” we are fed from the powers that be via the media organizations. YOU'RE GONNA DIE! THE WORLD'S GONE BLIND! So f*cking true!!!! Ripping guitar work in this song. The vox rip up the airwaves with pure anger and energy!
