Anyway, we are here to talk about The End Will Show Us How. If you've heard Tremonti's stuff since his first album All I Was in 2012, I don't think there should be any surprises on this one. He did start experimenting with some slightly down-tuned guitars on Marching In Time, and he continues it on this one on certain tracks, especially on opener "The Mother, The Earth & I". At the same time, he's all about the big heavy riffs, serious hooks and big grandiose choruses, which is the winning combination for any great song. However, this record seems to lack the memorability that was found on the first four albums in particular. Even after multiple listens, I still find not a single track grabbing me and shaking me at my core. The only song that seems to be a slight saving grace is "Tomorrow We Will Fail". The vocal performance in that song shines brightly with tons of harmonies.
I find that this album also contains many more slower tracks that straight-up burners. If there were a couple more faster, up-tempo tracks, this album would've been a winner. Tremonti's still got plenty of riffs churrning within him, however I think if he maybe found a different producer to work with, because every single record he has made over the last 20 years (with the exception of Creed's Full Circle) have all been produced by Michael "Elvis" Baskette. I find that the production quality and direction he tends to follow is starting to get a bit repetitive, predictable and tedious. If this was more of an EP with half the amount of songs or perhaps even less, it would've stood out a lot more.
