She deeply feels what she sings. That is something the audience gets to experience when watching her perform. Her wide vocal range has enabled her to dabble into different genre of music, one of them being blues. Though metal is mostly what you will find on her playlist, she has never tried her hand at singing it. Founding members Mar, Shane Oranchuk,Jason Cullen, D-Rail Dahlmer, and Jake Victor formed the band with the vision of writing melodic and heavy music. With an album and tour in their horizon there is no telling how far this band will be in another year. Stay tuned.

http://www.facebook.com/breakingthesilent

Life Like Fire

Maddy has been involved in music since the young age of 9 where she started out in lessons for country music. At age 12, she switched over to jazz where she landed a record deal, but turned it down because she had fallen for metal, punk and rock music. This came along when her grandma accidentally bought her a Slipknot CD and her grandpa took her to get her first guitar. Unfortunately she was only able to get in 2 years of guitar lessons and rock vocal lessons before her mom sent her to the streets with nothing, but her guitar and lil dog. Over the next four years, Maddy dropped outta school, moved between friends, park benches, trees and some of the lowest places in Calgary. Her life was eventually turned around by a neighbour who heard her singing and playing guitar outside. He inspired her to do something with her talents and get out there. This lead to Maddy seeking out other musicians and creating her first serious hard rock band in Red Deer, Alberta called Promise Revoked. This band went on to open for big bands like Sum 41, Gob and Sweeney Todd. They were also featured on radio stations, playing big festivals and eventually were signed to a Canadian label. Due to different interests, this band eventually fell apart. After trying out a few different bands, she was recruited by a Calgary band called Silo. This band had great potential and got Maddy back up into the music scene again by headlining shows at the Marquee and playing Our Fest, but with a band member moving away and also unable to find a permanent bass player, this band also fell apart. Hope was not lost, since Silo's other guitar player Josh had moved into a band house with Maddy. They ended up spending every night playing music and writing songs, which led to creating the band Life Like Fire.

Life Like Fire was born in 2016 from the shattered remains of four popular local Calgary bands. Their combined skill sets create a unique brand of in your face rock 'n roll that is quickly gaining pace in Alberta's underground music scene. This band adds a modern twist to an old school sound then tops it off with searing female lead vocals and blistering guitar shred. Though she had enjoyed her days of progressive and power Metal, she knew that there was something more she was yearning for in the world. Journeying West in search of change and a new life, Adaria came to discover the world of folk metal along the way. She knew that this was what she had yearned for, she had her purpose in place. Though search of party members was at first slow, Adaria eventually caught word of the war master Archon, who had just emerged from the darker realms of music in search of something new. Adaria quickly convinced Archon to consider the adventure that she offered and it soon after came to pass that Forsaken Rite was born. Though quiet and somewhat shy, Adaria brings a fierce determination to the war party unlike any other. Her honesty and loyalty ringing true, her foundation brings a unity to the band that binds them strongly together. Her thunderous drums boom and well throughout their songs and bring a most immense power to the war party. The sword-maiden ties them to one another and brings to their tales the virtues of friendship and camaraderie.

Sevi – Accordion
Sevi came to Forsaken Rite from the forested lake lands of Western Alberta. The war party had found its footing in the world, but still lacked a certain magic and splendor to its ways. A long-time companion to both Archon and Eiveen, Sevi’s keen ear for the classical arts as well as her passion for the piano (among other instruments) made her an immediately appealing addition to the band. After making her way to Edmonton and eventually finding a home in the capital, it was not long until Sevi procured the appropriate equipment and became Forsaken Rite‘s keyboardist. Along the way she found a desire to pursue the Accordion. With passion in her heart she made the change to Accordion. With a wistful and reserved, yet graceful and defined nature, she brings to the stage both a flowing and magical beauty of symphonic melodies, as well as the jovial and hearty rhythms of the accordion. It is not in her way to engross the listeners of our tales with power and awe, but instead to enchant them with a harmonious and natural beauty. The druidess of Forsaken Rite ties the war band to nature, and the beauty and wonder of the world we live in.

Forged in the northern plains of Canada in the city of Edmonton, Alberta on October of the year 2012, Forsaken Rite had emerged. As far as the mountains of the west and the frost bitten plains of the east they at last came together to birth the war party in its infancy. Though small in number they used the inspirations they had all brought from their pasts to form a sound unlike any they had done before. After many seasons of change, struggle, and friends come and gone, Forsaken Rite was ready to take the land by storm.

FB- https://www.facebook.com/ForsakenRite/

Remnants
Brittny South is a drummer from Edmonton, Alberta!
