Ingrid Newton of Metal Master Kingdom interviews The Ginger Tornado from the band WITHOUT MERCY.
Without Mercy band members:
Alex Friis - Vocals
DJ Temple - Guitars
Ryan Loewen - Bass
Matt Helie - Drums
In 2013 I started this crazy idea with a couple of friends as a part time and just for fun thing. Eventually the possibility of following through with the idea as more than just a hobby became very clear. As the years rolled on, I scouted out each member and formed the line up you see now.
The band writes most of the music all together with each member throwing their ideas into play. The song usually starts with one members idea and that idea gets expanded by the rest of the band. Then we use a production company called “Temple Entertainment” to plan and produce the recording process.
Is the band releasing, or recently released a new album?
On May 27 we release our 4th studio recording, “Mouichido” (pronounced Moe Itchy Doe).
Are any band members receiving equipment endorsements?
DJ (The Ginger Tornado) is endorsed by In Tune Guitar Picks and Knuckle Head Strings.
Any tour announcements to share with the fans?
We’re touring across Canada this June in support of our new release.
Does your band have a pre show ritual?
We each have a specific warm up routine that we do and after that there are some personalized things we each like to do. Come see us at a show and see what they are!
We all love the festivals that we’ve been playing the last couple of years. Loud As Hell stands out as the best festival for us by far… but outside of that, Red Deer alberta has been getting nuts and really knows how to party!
To be honest, we’re fans of all the bands we play with. It’s so rad that we get to meet new people and new bands that jump on stage with us. Matt and I went to Down last time they were in Vancouver. That was pretty killer. But if you want an even more epic band, check out Exit Strategy.
Any last words to share with the fans?
Live your dreams! We all started this thing years ago and we can’t believe it’s gone so far! Work hard and be nice to people, amazing things will happen!
